153k on original clutch!(1st post-noobie)...

I am the new owner of a 93' 3.slo 4 runner.I bought from a bud of mine,in awesome condition.red,no rust w/original clutch! I was looking for some feedback from others to see if my truck is a anomaly,or if getting so many miles out of a clutch is normal,thanks in advance. Oh yeah-she's slow,but squeak and rattle free,which is more than i can say for my wifes 01 grand cherokee w/ only 60k!

I don't know, I have 135k on my '89 mazda pickup that I bought new and it has the original clutch. I often wonder if that's unusual, too.

i own a '94 4x4 sr5 with 193K on the origonal clutch...i'm hoping to make it to 200K!

Wow, that's great compared to what I have been getting on my pickup. Overweight flywheel likes to blow a master cylinder about every 10K miles, pressure plate soon starts to get eaten up and out it all goes. Just installed an Aisin clutch master this weekend, its predecessor start leaking out of the piston right onto the cab floor for the billionth time. This Aisin MC feels like it can hold up to some abuse, so I'm going to go abuse it this weekend.

my 93 just rolled over 250k miles on its original clutch!

It is in how your drive your vehicle that will determine clutch life. I had 165k, 144k and 65k on my Toyota trucks when they went. The 65k was on my 93 2wd and previous owner was an old man who rode the clutch. Clutches last a long time if you know how to drive a manual transmission.
