Hey all, pretty sure I'm dealing with a bad alternator..... was driving, battery light was on and blinking, alarm going off....

Battery seems fine.. voltmeter shows no output from alternator (at the battery).

My question is, not knowing too much about this toy..... is there anything inbetween that I could be looking at.... fusilble link, fuse, etc etc...?

Just curious before I pull the alternator out.

Thanks
David

usually when the alternator goes out, its the brushes inside the alternator that is bad, you can try to take it apart and fix it, also check the bearing. but if you dont want to rebuild, its easier to just replace the whole thing, if you have a 4.0 engine, its simple.

Yes, its the 4.0, forgot to mention that! Thank you for the reply, and I’m just going to replace it, already got a rebuilt.

you might want to keep the original and have a pro rebuild to make it a higher amp alternator. then keep the other one you have as a spare.
