2006 4runner sport edition

I'm looking for a used 4runner from 1997 to 2002 but then I saw a 2006 sport edition 2wd with 180k. Its up to date with maintenance and water pump and timing belt or chain replaced. Its in good condition and wants $7500 but will take $7000. Is that a good price? How are the 4th gens?

v6 or v8? Regardless seems high for 2wd. In perspective, I paid 14k for my 06 v8 sport with upgraded leather and Pioneer head unit. 98k on it. This was in the PNW where prices tend to be rather inflated. Are you looking for a 4wd vehicle? If so I would pass I have seen 4wd 4th gens comparatively priced.

its a v6 and looking for a 2wd. Its not my daily driver but will be for my son in 6 months to a year when he starts to drive. I'm in hawaii where 4runners and tacoma are priced high

Sounds a little high to me for 180k on 2WD V6. Also the V6 has timing chain, not belt so if it actually did have the chains replaced I'd be curious of how the rest of the car was taken care of because those chains don't typically wear out at that mileage.

Sorry its actually 170k. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Not really, there are some of us who had to have them replaced due to stretch but it isn't common. The chain is supposed to be good for "the life of the motor" I've seen quite a few with 300k.
