2WD don't need driveline lube?

So its been a great day so far (not) I get under the truck to change the rear diff oil, relocate the diff breather, and lube the drive shaft. I quickly found out I didn't have a 24mm socket to drain the oil. and after running all around to find the right grease and bought the 2 grease guns and loaded them, I get under the truck and start looking for the lube points. I didn't find any on ether side of the drive shaft, I had pic but I have no idea why they got deleted from the truck to the computer. So wtf... do only the 4x4s need lubing?

everything needs lube

The oil in the axle lubes the barings in the axle there is no need for a grease on the axle it self. The drive shafts U-joints dont come stock with zerk fittings but it is a option when your at the parts store getting a new one. The links are are all one piece the rubber was cast into the ends so there is no need to lube them.

So get a socket and do what you can.

god I feel like a grade A moron right now. No Cardan joint, no slip yoke, and i buy 2 guns for 2 greases. yup I'm a moron. :shrug:

No biggie we all screw up. I believe a 15/16ths socket will fit that 24mm. Maybe you have one of those?

nope I looked lol, and I asked both my neighbors that have much bigger tool boxes... and nether. just guess I wasn't supposed to work on her today.

The day was just full of mess ups, my fav was taking the truck off the jack stands forgetting it was in neutral. (Glad I could hold the truck from rolling into the street or one of the houses across the street, while I yelled for my roommate)
