3/2 Cornfed Lift Kit

Hey guys.

I currently have a 2/1 Cornfed kit installed, but I have gotten so used to the mild lift that I want to give it just a little "oompf" without going crazy. I think I am going to order a 3/2 kit because I am trying to save right now, so spending over $1k to get an OME kit installed isn't practical.

My question, I have only been able to find 1 or 2 members with the 3/2 and 265/70/17 tires, and I am not completely sure if my 265/70/17 Nitto's will look OK lifting it another inch. I only have 3K miles on them so they aren't going anywhere, and don't want to go to 285's anyways.

Also, will the extra inch make that much of a difference on the CV boots, etc? What might those cost to replace down the line if need be?

I had the lift on just before I had my tires, so like 3-4 months?
 
if you don't wheel don't buy into the front diff spacer scam. not that dramatic of an angle to adversely affect your cv's.

also, i run a 3" toytec lift with stock bridgstones (265's) which are a hair smaller than your nittos and i really kinda like the way it looks, been rolling it for a year now. a tire needs replacing so i am about to upgrade to 285's though.

Do you happen to have any pictures of your truck so I can see how it looks?

I think your setup looks sweet. I dont think going an extra inch is going to matter enough to justify. Plus the added benefits of staying are better MPG, less wear and tear etc. If you were in the market for new tires and wanted to go larger than your current setup then I can see some benefit of upgrading spacers.

So my 2 cents says to keep it

But whenever I look at it, I feel like it needs just a little bit more, and I can't add spacers unless I lift it more because they will make my tires rub. Plus I found someone locally with a brand new 3/2 kit for $240 so I don't have to wait a month for them to arrive, and I won't have to pay an extra $60-80 for it.

I just ordered a set of Spidertrax wheel spacers, so what I might do is put them on first, see how they look and see how the rubbing is, then go from there. Only $240 for the 3/2 kit isn't too much so if I decide not to do it I can easily get that much for them afterwards. Otherwise I can install it and sell my 2/1 kit, since a few people seem to want it.

Toytec makes a diff drop that returns the angle of the cv boot to stock. I think it is around $30 and installs in a half hour.

I will, however the Spidertrax won't be made until the end of next month, so for now I will only be swapping the 2/1 with a 3/2, and I'm wondering if it will look OK without the wheel spacers because I'm not up-sizing my tires again. I'm staying with 265/70/17's

I'm having a shop install it and do an alignment for me all at once. I did the 2/1 myself but decided I didn't want to do it again.

Do you have any pictures of your truck? Did you put the lift on it before or after the spacers? If you did the lift first, how did it look before you put the wheel spacers on? Mine will have to go without the spacers for about a month.
 
i've seen a 3/2 with 265/65/17's in person and the tires looked too small for the lift. I would assume the 70's would look decent. My biggest complaint would be the width of the tires making it look like the 4runner was on wooden stilts. 285's rock. BTW i have 265/70/17's toyo open country A/T's and if your runner turns out good josh i will follow in your footsteps with a 3/2!

I'll be the guinea pig then haha. 265/70/17's look really good with the 3/2 and wheel spacers, so I'm hoping it won't look that bad for the month while I wait for my spacers to arrive.

i had my spacers on before the lift.

Any rubbing with the spacers and no lift? How about after the lift?
 
only full cock going reverse.

i took care of that by remolding the splash guard that it rubs against.
