3rd Gen. Black paint single stage?

I'm sorry if this has been said already but I couldn't find the definitive answer. I have a black '99 Highlander with bird bomb markings on the hood and want to buff it out. Is the black paint single stage so I can buff out the bird damage?

I can confirm that 96-98 is single stage but not 100% sure on 99+.

Get some compound and work it in with a foam pad. If the pad is black, then you have single stage paint. Try out Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. That stuff works wonders.

By the way, you can buff out the damage even if it has a clear coat.

Yep as confirmed the black on all 3rd gens is single stage

You will notice as you are buffing that your pad or rag will turn black as you go, which is the paint coming off, but just a small layer

'99 is single stage... great! I'll give it a shot with some compound. Any specific suggestions for best results?
