4 runner Sport / Limited

New to the site . Driving my friends 2003 sport Edition V8 4x4. I love this vechile. I have decided to purchase a runner. I like white , but see it may be hard to find. I want a 2006 to 2009 v8 4x4.
The question I have to increase the number of choices on used , IS the limited as good with a hood change ? I see larger rotors , resa suspion bigger wheels, not much else BUT I'm new.
Is my thinking right OR should I stick with Sport and take my time?

I have 2 4th gen runners a 03 limited v8 4x4 and a 05 sport v8 4x4 both have some of the same features :trophy:

Hood does look cool .
I wont be off road that much . Dirt roads cross creeks nothing heavy duty. I juswt didnt want to miss anything by not getting the sport. I think they are close to the same it would make my search easier than sport only.

If you're not looking to do much off roading stuff, I'd go for the Limited since it has all the extra interior features for comfort (leather seats, power seats, nicer sound system, rear climate control, etc)

I think it looks like crap and as an engineer, fake scoops piss me off. I'd pay an extra $100 to get a hood without a fake scoop.

Sounds like you have a case of jealousy ^^^

I wouldn't look at a hood to make up your mind. Look at other features you want, hood might just be a bonus.

Taking the a hood scoop off a Sport Edition is like shaving a german shepard....it just doesn't look right!

I think I might add the Limited to the seatch I looked at the features again and not any reason for me to limit to Sport only . I think I do like the V8 those manifolds are they a V8 only issue. Would you drope yje V8 also on the search ?

I did read about a H G thing on v6 motor , what is that , is it expensive ? I know it doesnt hapen to all it seems.

As with all head gasket issues, it can get bad quickly. If you catch it, you can usually save yourself from serious damage.

There is a sticky here, but I haven't seen too many threads about it.

I just got my 3rd 4th Gen Sport Edition, I would say hold out for what you want and be ready to put your money where your mouth is if "the one" pops up!
