4rth generation transmission

Guys ,
Apologies in advance if that has been posted and discussed somewhere, but frankly speaking my luck ran out while searching for the info.
So, the info I am looking for is for
2009 4runner , Sport Edition , V6
1. I found replacement kits for transmission for pan gasket and filter itself online that listed my truck on the list of trucks that kit would fit, however, today I went to dealership and they told me that I have fully sealed transmission where only oil itself is changed. I did search for dipstick and did not see it, but that doesn't mean it not there - maybe i was not searching well hwell:. So, do all 2009 have transmissions with ATF WS (world standard) and thus filter is not to be changed OR some do and some don't?
2. They put only about 5 quarters (that what they charged me for). Seems to me small amount; so how much oil actually goes in transmission.
3. VIN number has some encoded info in it, like country of manufacturing , engine , etc. Does it have info on transmission?
4. My manual actually did say about transmission oil interval changes, but i have to admit - i neglected it, so what are the intervals? I don't do towing , but i do drive dynamically (some might say aggressively, but i don't cut off anybody - so it's dynamically ). I live in mid-Atlantic, so 4wd engaged upon necessity only (rain , snow )

All 2005+ V6 Models and all 2004+ V8 4th gens have a "Sealed" Transmission that has no Dipstick. If you do a search in the 4th gen section for "Sealed Transmission, Transmission Fluid Flus, and WS Fluid" you'll find a lot of information on this. Toyota uses nice fancy Brass screens in their newer transmissions and honestly most people (including us at the dealership) don't recommend or bother checking/cleaning until about the second ATF fluid changed (usually closer to like 200k).

WS Fluid is NOT a "LifeTime" ATF like Toyota tries to play it off as, many dealerships and shops have come to the agreed interval of about 80~100k on WS Fluid as a "safe" normal driving interval. If you consult your Owner's Manual you'll see Toyota has a contridictory statement about "LifeTime WS ATF" in that under "severe" driving it should be changed at 60k followed by 30k intervals.

The VIN does not have the transmission code "encoded" in it like the engine (though I have not verified either lately to be honest, this is just what I was taught many years ago and never used). The transmission for a 4th gen with a "Sealed Transmission" should be a A750E or A750F (you did not specifiy whether or not it was a 2WD or 4WD)

Something interesting to note:
A = Aisin Automatic Second last digit denotes number of gears Last digit is the Toyota series number -E=Electronic control -F=Four wheel drive -H=AWD Transverse mount engine -L=Lock-up torque converter

I searched using your advice and found some conflicting info. In some places 5-6 quarters were mentioned , in some like 13-14. :shrug:
I did mention 4wd :yo:, albeit implicitly "by engaging 4wd".
so, is mine transmission A750F?

That number is for a "flush" or complete refill. The transmission pan only holds about 3-4qts. A lot of times a Transmission Service is often just a single Drain and Refill, which isn't a bad thing, since most people don't want to spend the almost $80+ in 12qts of WS fluid to do a full flush.
