4the Gen Noob question alert! Suspension interchangeability

Hi all,

So, first of all, I should introduce myself. My name is Jason, and I recently acquired a 2006 4x4 SR5 V8 4Runner, and am starting to research mods. I've had some pretty extreme builds in the past (see user notyourmomslx450 on several other pages), but I want to keep this one a little milder, yet capable, since it's the wife's rig.

So, my question is this: Can I put 5th gen 4Runner TRD suspension from a 2016 on a 4th gen, or are they totally different? I know it's a dumb question, but I am curious as to whether or not they are compatible since I came across some factory takeoff suspension at a decent price

anything 120/150 platform will interchange. so 4th and 5th gen 4runners are all direct swap along with the Fj cruiser. thats for front and rear suspension, brakes, CV axles, and a bunch of other parts. the 05+ tacoma is also swappable, but only for the front end because of the leaf sprung rear
