Alright, so i did some wheeling and my 3.0 is not nearly enough. I only have 31's and 4Low had trouble climbing a small rock pile. I want to maybe put a large six or small 8 in it. Any suggestions?

ok, I found a 4.0l Landcruiser motor on usenginesinc for 1,995. What do you think about this one? Will it be enough motor for serious wheeling?

Why not look at a Ford 5.0 L injected or a small block Chev?
Are conversions kits for these available over there?

I think that if you are going to the effort of fitting a V8 to a vehicle that never had one then why not pick a local, common V8 that will be easy to source parts for and easy to warm up if you desire, cam, inlet, stroking, etc.

Cheers

Thats not a bad idea. I will prob get better fuel mileage too. Small blocks are a dime a dozen over here so it would be easier to get parts and cheaper. Ive got a junk yard that charges a dollar a Cubic inch. Thanks for the input.

I put a 3.4L in my '94. Alot of work and alot of time, but well worth it IMO. Didn't have to change a single head gasket on the 3.4! That was not the case with the 3.0. If you're just changing the motor it might be simpler than my ordeal. I also changed it from an automatic to a manual at the same time.
