7000 mile used oil analysis on my '06 V6

In case anyone is interested.

I had a Blackstone UOA done after about 7k miles of usage in my 2006 V6, mixed driving with lots of stop and go, mountain use in deep snow, logging roads, etc.

Looks like these rigs, even with the timing chains, can handle 7k on syn no problem. I'll probably go 8k+ on this fill with M1 and an OEM filter and see how it does.

This is probably a good way to establish a baseline in case any V6 owners are worried about looming head gasket issues, it'll likely show up here long before it manifests itself in a more ugly way.

i'm doing a 10000 miles oil change or 1 year since I got my vehicle. whichever comes first. i'm now at 115000 miles. I use amsoil 5w30 and eao filter for extended drain interval. works well so far and had no problem.

I have the V8, but I'm doing the same interval at the moment with the same oil and filter. If y analysis keep coming back good I'll bump it out to 15k like Amsoil recommends for "Severe Duty" vs. the 25k they state for regular driving.

I've done many 10K oil changes on my V8....using M1 5w30 and OEM filter.
This last change I used M1 Extended Performance.....got about 1K to go before I take it out at 15K. I work at a place that I can do my own UOA so I will post results when I get them. Curious what Iron PPM and vis rating are. Have been doing similar experiment in my civic. M1 UOAs recorded, now doing a Pennzoil Platinum run (both for 10K) and see how results compare. Nowhere near scientific, but better than nothing.....kinda fun for me too

Definitely interested in your results as I've been using 5k mile intervals and am using Pennzoil Ultra and OEM filter
