Hey Everyone,

I've been lurking on this section for the better part of this year so i figured it was time to start a thread of my own. Earlier this year I sold my 87 4runner and bought a 2000 SR5 from my dad with only 72k on it. Unfortunately I haven't had much time or funds to do much to it yet, Other then add a hunter bull bar and a new kenwood radio. I hope to do something with the sagging springs and tires in the near future.

he wasn't the original purchaser, but my name was put on the title when he bought it off of the original owner so technically i'm still the second owner my dad put less then 3k on it in the 2 years he drove it. I hope it lasts me awhile, i like this truck.

at the time i was going to get a Tacoma, i had a ford pickup that had bitten the dust, as i was looking my dad decided to get a new car and offered to sell this t4r to me, it just made sense given the low mileage. It was hard to see the 87 go, i put a lot of work into including an OME lift and a new engbldr head on the 22re, but i sold it to a good home and on to mod the third gen now!

Completed it's first long trip since I've owned it, Down to VA and back.

it needs a bath i know.
I decided to do a few small mods when i got home today. so here it goes...

New stock size Firestone Destination A/T 's have a few hundred miles on them now and seem to be good so far!

Did a complete fuel system clean up using the 3M kit.

Added An AIRRAID Intake tube for better flow and can hardly notice the difference!

Now to decide on a lift...

I've been MIA for awhile and haven't updated. A few weeks ago i ordered and installed the TOYTEC ultimate lift. I love it! My truck rides better then stock IMO.
Only have one pic so far will get more soon. I also have Hella lights waiting to go on. Maybe wheels and larger tires will be next! Check it out!

looks good man! and where did you get that light bar? i like that look. and did u have to do any modification to it to work with the fat lip bumper?

Thanks! Its a hunter bar off ebay was like 100 bucks. Took no modifications what soever, bolted on in something like 20 minutes. I wouldn't call it structural but its good for mounting lights.

I'm Thinking about wheels and tires to go along with my toytec ultimate was thinking about summit racing summit wheels http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-85-6883/media/images and Cooper ST 285/75/16s

Anyone have any Input?

The Summit Racing wheels dont fit! I learned it the hard way last week, the brake calipers stick out too far to mount the wheels. If I were you I'd go with the Wheelers Offroad Type B Wheels:

something about the look of the wheelers ones im not that fond of like not enough holes. have you heard anything about the cragar soft 8s? i also just heard that Mickey Thompson is coming out with a new line of steel wheels. may hold out for that if they'll fit. Yeah I know what ya mean on the Wheelers. The holes could be biggger or they could use one more. If you want to see them on a T4R to judge though, search for TCMach and check out his build thread (they look pretty decent on his rig). I know a few people on here are running the Cragars, so my guess is they should fit. Don't hold me responsible if I'm wrong though, lol that was just from a quick forum search...that or the MTs look good, but no idea on whether or not they'd clear the calipers.

They actually dont look half bad on his rig. i may go with them when i pull the trigger, now to decide on tires.... seems to be the hardest part haha.

Nice 4Runners there, especially your old one. I just bought some winter wheels for my snow tires from Summit. Last time I bought from them was over 10 years ago and their service is still awesome. I got some ProComp 152s from them with the simulated beadlock. They are 16x8 -6 offset I believe and they fit great. I think that works out to 4.25" back spacing.

The winters are 265/70s which fit good at stock height but are too small with the lift for my liking but I can't shell out that kind of money for new winter tires.

What size are the Firestones you bought?

they're stock size 265/70/16 as i bought they before i lifted when the back was sagging... I'd love to go to 285/75 since they're supposed to fit well with the toytec.

I've actually been thinking about selling my runner. its a tough call but i have 3 vehicles at the moment and am a college student. since my last post I've added two hella's to the bar and It's turned 85,000. Its turning out to be a tough decision since i really enjoy having this thing around.
