I was looking at getting the OME 883 coils for the front and the 891s for the rear. I wanted the rear HD coils for the occasional towing but I dont know if it would make my driving miserable. Not sure on shocks yet. Also I have an Addicted tube bumper and I wanted to get a Smittybilt 8000. Which is why I wanted the 883s. Oppinions?

I use to have the 883's and Bilstein Adjustable 5100's. It wasn't super comfortable but it wasn't bad either. My ARB bumper helped. The 891's do really well under load and I carry A LOT of weight in the back daily with them. I paired them with the ext. travel bilstein 5100's. If you aren't going to have any weight back there other than when towing it will probably be a little stiff. I guess it might just depend on what shocks you want to go with.

FWIW, here's what it looked liked with that lift with no front ARB yet and 265's

I have 883s in the front, with ARB and Warn M8000. The ride and handling are good, no complaints. I have 7 7/8 LC springs in the back (with Monroe Gas Magnum shocks). I'm happy with the ride, but it was a little high before I loaded 300# or so on the back end.

JWaldz or 98OzarksRunner are you running any aftermarket UCAs with these setups? I want to know if I'm going to run into clearance issues.

I'm using all stock stuff except the springs and shocks. Front shocks are Nitro 9000 from Wheeler's (current model is N2.0 I think). No clearance or alignment issues, running 265/75 16 tires.

I did not. I did get spacers at some point, but I can't remember if I got them for the 33's or for the 35's.

I have 883/891 and love them. Pretty good ride unloaded and really good even hauling over 800# in the cargo.

Just bought my 1st 4Runner, 2001 SR5 4wd, and ordered OME 883/891 heavy coils with OME shocks with drop kit. Won't be a daily driver just going on the beach and hauling a boat. See a lot of several year old post and was wondering if anybody has been riding on these for a while and how they have held up. Any need for any other aftermarket parts (UCA's, CV boots, panhard bars, ect) ? Any Pictures and tire sizes of 3" lifts to give me ideas.
