93 4Runner: dropping the oil pan

I've got a slight leak at the oil pan gasket and was bummed out to find that several of the bolts are obscured by the transmission bell housing. Is there a way to drop the oil pan without dropping the transmission first? Is there a SST available for this job?

My factory manual says nothing about dropping the transmission first but I don't see any other way around it.

I don't see how your oil pan bolts are blocked by your transmission bellhousing. The only thing I had to get out of the way was the front differential, and for "why-not?" circumstances, the front crossmember. After that, everything was ratchet and socket, came out nice and easy.

Mine has AT, maybe that's the difference?
