99 limited Tranni fit in my 2001?

[White 4x4runner]

Guy is selling a transmission from a 99 limited automatic 4x4 with 87k miles on it reason for selling the runner was totaled and he parted it out. I know ,y runner has a a340e in it the picture he sent me it says 3d460 across the top just behind the bell housing... I'm guessing I can't use this transmission right?

Yes I know it's a noob question... It's 500 bucks and my truck would be very happy to have it! So anyone? Just gimme a guess at least

Toyota Shows 3 different part numbers, that's not to say that it won't work (they are all the same basic trans) but there is something different and may require some parts off the old transmission to work with your year.

I am going to say no. The 99 have a kick down cable hooked up to the throttle body while the 01 is electrically operated kick down. Too many things to change out to make it work.

Yeah that would be why the different part numbers then. Learn something new every day.

The scary part for me is the 2000 is a one year only trans. Luckily it shows at only $1600 from Toyota, as long as they have one in stock, that is my plan of attack if I ever have issues.
