I bought it new at Thanksgiving 2000 so it just hit 10 years. I had aftermarket leather added by the dealer and the drivers seats was showing some wear. The installed no longer carries an exact match and I didn't want the front to look different than the rear so I pulled both front seats and took them to a local leather shop. The replaced a few panels and dyed the new panels to match the old. Basically it looks like I have two new front seats. This also gave me a great opportunity to pull the center console and shampoo the entire carpet. Anyone remember the torque for the seat bolts? I am thinking 30 ft pounds but they were much tighter than that from the factory. Out of curiosity how hard is it to swap te seat bottom on non powered seats? The leather shop said they were not symmetrical and didn't recommend it.

I don't know what the torque is for the seat bolts, but just get them pretty tight because if you over tighten it's really easy to break the welded nut on the inside and then it becomes a big pain in the ass.

You can swap the bottom seat covers no problem.

For the seats I used my old German torque wrench and torqued them down to goodantigh! I'm not too fluent in German so it may be off by a bit. Don't think they're going anywhere. Not really something that requires a precision torque. But do be careful not to over tighten as said before.

well this isn't gong to work. The passenger seat has a weight detector for the airbag. The only way to do this is to switch the seat covers which involves a lot more work than I planned.
