a340e transmission- answers quickly please!

I bought a 4runner with a problem a 340e 4x4 transmission, the problem being it does not have reverse. I am thinking about buying a transmission from craigslist with 150k miles.

My question, is reverse going out a common problem? will buying a good working transmission with 150k miles going to be a problem in the short future?

No reverse would generally indicate a need for a replacement or rebuild... I would buy the replacement...
