my brake lights have been on full time for a long time. took the vehicle in for a diagnosis. result was faulty ABS control module. had to get an inspection in the spring, failed due to brake lights not flashing. discovered that if i unplug the ABS module, the brake lights function normal. does cause a several dash lights (check engine/abs/brake). thankfully that is not cause an inspection rejection.
however, driving around like this, i noticed the odometer is not moving. i surmise that the speed sensors are offline, and those feed info to the odometer. i suppose running it like this will have no negative consequences. it is one way to keep the miles down!
