This petition is not very clearly worded.

Regulations Banning Concealed Firearms in Offices Occupied by Executive Branch Agencies [under development

What does banning concealed firearms from courthouses and the state government buildings have to do with communism.

It makes perfect sense to ban concealed carry from a state government building except for LEOs.

Would you have people be allowed to bring guns into the courtroom as well?

Virginia is STILL an open carry state, still a concealed carry state, still a state with lots of access to guns for hunting, fishing and personal protection.

I may be jaded because I live in California, which has stricter laws than I would prefer. I see Virginia's "you cannot bring firearms into government buildings" proposal as rather moderate.

I am on the same page as you too on most of the listed except for #1, #5. I have has friends that has been arrested because of false accusations from their pissed off other and now they are on a "List" and will not able to own guns. How long will they be ban?

2. 1.) that only licensed firearms dealers engage in the business of selling firearms (what does this mean? I am not a dealer, but i occassionally sell my older guns to get funds for a new gun and this provision will make it a "criminal act". I will then become from a law abiding citizen, to a criminal. I do check and make copies of legal ID/ CHL / Voter registration from buyer.

Government building, this to includes VA. ABC liquor stores too and we have 380 stores statewide

Even in CA which has some of the strictest laws in the country you can still "sell a gun" but you have to partner with a licensed dealer to transfer the gun for money. Basically the gun sale must be tracked and brokered by a licensed dealer who cannot require a fee of more than $20 or similar. It is a way for allowing the state to track gun sales. I don't know about Virginia but I assume that is what is going on. And given that Virginia is so pro guns I'd imagine the new executive orders will not have as big an impact as you would think. This is just me thinking outloud, speculating :cheers:

Virginia never has any restrictions for "private" "gun show" "pawn shop" sales, until now and i am hoping what you are saying is right.. You can also go through FFL dealer too, but it's around $60+ around here. And if you research VA. has the lowest gun crimes compare to nationwide, but why are the states with the most restrictive gun laws has up there with gun crimes?

We still have House control Republican and are looking to repeal the order.

I do feel for you guys in CA., how's the new "Confiscation Law" coming along?

Yeah I think that the new CA law is unconstitutional and will not hold up to Federal Court scrutiny.

It's illegal to carry a gun in Texas into any place where 51% or more of their revenue comes from alcohol sales.

Look at the gun sales another way. You can buy a car from an individual but you still have to register it with the state. I've got no qualms with them wanting you to use an FFL for transactions. I've never liked the loop hole of not registering guns from private sales. But then again I also have nothing to hide and I don't believe the sky is falling either.

My buddy got in a fight with another man outside a concert and when he drew back to hit the guy he accidentally hit his wife with his elbow. She filed charges and now he can no longer own a gun. It's a bullshit thing on her part (she's a ***** anyways) but for every bs story out there there are a 100 good stories where actual abusers can't own them or its at least illegal for them to own them.

I really don't see an issue with anything in that doctrine. I hate to quote the idiot in office but those are some common sense gun laws.

Cashmoney, i hear what you are saying and i don't disagree that guns need to be out of violent criminal hands. But this is an overreach from my governor and it infringed into our 2A, rights, we never had these restrictions before in the past why now?

To me these nit picking to the 2A is nothing more for a way for the government to "test the water" to see what policies they enact gets a public response and to pursue future restrictive policies to meet their agendas, how does this help society? This is nothing but fear mongering at it's finest. If they don't get any kind of public backlash, then they continue to push the boundaries of our Constitutions. To me, the US Constitutions is like a strong solid foundations to your house, in this case, it our country, and if you house is on a unstable foundations and constantly being chipped away, it will eventually fall and crumble.

So your buddy is now on the "list" how will be get his "natural given rights" back?

Yes this is true, but having a car is a "Privilege" and not a "2A rights" and you are driving on their public roads. Look at how BIG the "Car" business has become and who is benefiting from it. There are more "Hot Lanes" now then ever, (which cost up $10/day just to use), in VA and i'm sure in other States. And all this is coming from VA tax payers.
