Advice needed for a used 2007 4Runner pls,

I'll restore my paint if I want to. I don't like scratches and if I want to keep my truck looking good and clean, I will. I don't live in a trashy house and I won't drive a trashy truck either.

I didn't mean to offend you but it sounds like we each own our 4Runners for completely different purposes. I recently took my family out for a week in the high Eastern Sierras, towing a camper up to over 9000' and spending extended periods on all kinds of trails and really am not in a hurry to wash the trail dust off of it. I would never put up with the quirks of a vehicle like the 4Runner if I didn't intend to put it in places where it can get dirty, dinged, scratched, etc.

I guess I never really understood having a 2WD 4Runner since nearly all of the appeal of having it is the ability to drive the front wheels when desired and the low gearing that comes with 4LO but you're proof that there is a different appeal to a certain market segment that likes other traits that these vehicles possess.

Here's the link to my transmission used oil analysis from one year ago from which I argue that leaving the factory fill fluid in for 100k miles may not be the best idea. Keep in mind that the previous owner used the vehicle from the end of '06 to November of 2010 and put less than 35k miles on it, a good portion of that being road trips to Washington state and back to So Cal and the remainder being light commuting. He had never towed a thing and there wasn't even a chip of paint gone from inside the hitch receiver. If you plan on getting this transmission to last a long time it seems prudent to at least do the first change long before the factory recommendation.
