Im not sure where everyone gets the idea uniballs squeak. If you lube them up and keep them clean, they are completely silent. Plus the extra travel is definitely worth the extra money to me.
This. I lube it whenever I wash it. Mine are dead silent.

Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant in the drip bottle, and I keep a bottle in the glove box. ***Link***

Does anyone know how much caster angle is added to the Desert Product or ICON UCAs? Total Chaos states 4*, but I don't see any information about the other two.

Thanks!

I've read that icon is anywhere from +1 to +3 depending on what icon rep you talk to

IIRC DSM told me the Desert Products were 2.5 for caster correction.

...and dust cap will help you ruin them even faster.

Wait they help ruin them faster? Is this a typo, I thought they help prevent dirt from coming into contact with the uni balls.

That's actually something I wanted to ask you about since you're car is always squeaky clean, I wasn't sure if there's no problem in washing the car as long as you regrease it up. And what lubricant do you use?

some caps just trap dirt inside so they will ruin the balls faster. A few folks have fitted grease zerks into the caps so they can purge the chamber from time to time.

Just go open top and do the maintenance and they're fine. Use the triflow lubricant.

i use the tri-flow lubricant. few drops and jump on the sliders to further spread it. Works great.

I have been using the tri flow for over a year, no cap. Sometimes I'll wipe the ball down when I think about it. All good.

Looks like it's time to replace my Light Racing UCA's after 4 years of VERY LIGHT use. Right bushings are shot. Now to decide if I should just do bushings or new ones...

You got 4 years out of some poly bushings? That's pretty good, dude. So, uh, why exactly is it time to replace the whole arm?

I've had very light use as well and they seem to be just fine, but all of the negative news and images of failures have me considering replacements. I find these intriguing...
