Aluminess Aluminum Tacoma Front Bumper on a 3rd Gen 4Runner?

Has anyone ever installed an Aluminess 01-04 Tacoma bumper on a 3rd Gen 4Runner? If the ARB Tacoma bumper (3423020) will work on a 3rd Gen 4Runner (with minor adjustments) this one might as well. No doubt this is an expensive bumper... just wondering if anyone has bought one.

Does the 2001-2004 Tacoma even match up with the 1996-2002 4Runner as far as same/similar frames, bumper, grille and fender size?

i think it will work with minor modifications like ARB but I'm not sure if it will look good or not. I've seen a bunch of 2nd gen tacomas around here with them.

It looks a little big as mentioned in some of the comments on your thread. If someone in California got a 3rd Gen 4Runner bumper custom made to fit our vehicles perfectly Aluminess would have the plans. From that point forward anyone could order a bumper knowing that it would fit and look great. Maybe Aluminess could have an ARB-style and a tube-style... that would cover what most people want here on the forum. There are some advantages to aluminum - especially for those driving over salted roads and owners concerned with weight. I read that on average aluminum weighs about one-third of what steel weighs (Steel is about .3 pounds per cubic inch, aluminum is about .1 pounds per cubic inch). Steel is typically 2.5 times denser than aluminum.

Looking at the install guide for the aluminess bumper and many write ups for the ARB Tacoma bumper onto a 4Runner it looks like it for sure would fit the frames are similar it would just need modification like the ARB. If I had won the powerball I would have gotten this bumper to try.

As much as I want an aluminum bumper, that one is too damn big.
