Pretty sure 50" is going to be pretty wide. Most 3rd gens run 40" bar with success. Downpour makes brackets for the 3rd's that work with 40" bars. You might be able to get a 50" to work, but it's going to be right at the edge of the window.

A 40-41.5" bar will fit great on the roof, and there are a ton of those bars around. A 50" bar will hang over each side of your roof. Too big for a 3rd gen IMO.

Go big or go home. A 40" looks derpy and small in my opinion

~45" would be perfect I think.

I don't mind the overhang just wanted something a little brighter thanks for all the input that pic was just what I was looking for to make sure it was even possible to fit a 50"

I just finished installing my 30" on my roof rack. Realistically, it's brighter than I'll ever need for anything I'll do with my 4Runner. I think the 40" looks great on our trucks with the mounts downpour11 builds.

As far as the bar itself, I went with an OKLED. Myself, along with a bunch of my friends are blown away with how high quality the light is yet how much less money it is than a Rigid or VisionX etc. Yes, the higher end ones have a little cleaner light, and are probably more durable, but I'm just a guy in a 15 year old SUV, I'm not desert racing!

I strongly recommend contacting Colton over at viandp.com. I've mentioned it before, but his customer service still impresses me. Every email was quickly responded to and he thoroughly answered all my questions (even when I said I was contemplating other brands he doesn't carry). I ended up buying my OKLED through him and couldn't be happier. And he's all over tacomaworld, so maybe we can get him to be a vendor here!

So I went with the 50" bar and made some mounts for it out of extra metal I had laying around it actually fit pretty good about 1.5" wider than the front windshield on each side but I also mounted it a bit lower than snivilous sending the mounts I made to powder coat will post pics when I'm done

hey man, mine is mounded in the EXACT same spot and have some bad glare that makes things worse than it helps. my hood is silver, but does black make it bad also?

For those without a factory rack is there a significant increase in wind noise inside the cab with led bar mounted abover windshield?

If it helps, I've got basically 4 dinner plates and I can't even tell the difference as long as the sunroof cover is closed.

I have a 41.5" led bar with slag factory mounts.

There's about a quarter of inch gab between the light bar and windshield.

And here's my back light. 21.5" which got stolen of my truck. I just recently bought a new one with 4D lenses that I will be welding the nuts onto the mounting.brackets.

By the way I got my lights from
http://www.miamioffroad4wd.com/

Good quality lights for good price.

What's you're lift? ( it looks really good ! ) I'm getting the 3.5" coilovers & 3.75" superflex in the rear. With a 2" body lift!
