Got around to building a rear cargo area box for Miss KGB.
Its built out of 1/2 ply from home depot, uses a piano hinge and a lid stay. I was going to do 2 drawers but I have some 22 inch full extension self/soft close slides that are rated for 100 pounds, so we will just make it one drawer.
It doesnt have a full bottom, I was trying to keep it as light at possible hence the 1/2 inch ply.
This uses about a half sheet of ply, a full box would have used almost a full sheet. A full sheet of 3/4 (the most popular building material) weighs almost 70 pounds. This might weigh 40 at the most.
The bungees are what we have always had back there for securing stuff.
Not sure what to cover it in, I might do some linseed oil for the sides and the drawer and a rubber mat for the top.
