Another Soft Tex versus leather thread

Greetings :
Noob member here and I just ordered a 2023 4 Runner ORP with Predator Package . It comes with TRD logoed softex seats. I have a special needs kid who is actually 24 and sometimes he has toileting issues. When traveling he has a pull up on as well. All my Toyotas have been equipped with leather and for good reason for us. My wife is hesitant on the softex . She wants leather and she loves the Lime Rush paint color. Turns out I can't get leather and lime rush together from the factory.

So, how durable is softex , really? I am willing to take delivery and install Katskinz ( however it's spelled lol) if the softex can't take some cleaning up especially if urine leaks through his clothes . Thanks for your input and advice and experience here.

Softex should be far superior to leather. Much easer to clean, less likely to absorb spills and wont tear like leather. Hated my leather seats in my last car, they tore and fell apart.

I love the comfy seats in my 4R. Beat on them with all my camping and tools in my pockets and they have been great for the passed 64k.

100% agree. Softex is amazingly durable. When I traded in my 2018 ORP with over 50k miles, all of the seats looked brand new. Softex is WAY more durable than leather.

The wife’s GX460 had the Nulux (Softex) interior, while my ES350 has the real leather. I would rather have the Softex for durability and ease of cleaning.

I would check to see if the softex is perforated? I have cloth and have no idea what the different trim levels and heated seats etc. offer.

I've had really good luck with the Softex in my '13. Just now at 120,000 miles did I get a tear in the side of my bolster on the drivers seat. I'll probably replace the seat cover because everything else looks great.
