Another Southern Style Offroad bumper install

My bump stop for the tire swing out sheered off. Weak weld I guess. Also one of the bolt heads on the inside of the swing arm rubbed the paint off of my rear hatch, about half the size of a penny. It took ten months to receive as well...

Would have have gone with cbi if I had a time machine.

If you would have contacted us about these issues, we would have corrected them. If you'd like us to consider warranty repairs, you should send us an email stating so with good pictures from different angles of the problems you listed.

Not true, only three calls where made.
1. to place the order
2. asked about the missing light cut-outs and fitment issues, and this is when you blamed me for installing the bumper wrong and thats why i was having issues
3. was made to get missing hardware

Other than that only emails that I initiated. You guys never updated me on your own. You told me you had 100s of customers and that the personal touch i was looking for wasn't possible. This is what you told me when i asked to be updated.

Since July of 2016 over 90 emails and more than 13 voicemails alone and we answered every single one. Like we've said before, given our workload we simply do not have time to to reach out to customers like you wanted. We did however address your concerns and honored our warranty by putting brand new parts into fabrication for you. Yes it took awhile, but I think a lot of people here forget or simply do not know that we are a small business. I think people assume that every company that's out there trying to make something of themselves is some mega corporation with unlimited resources and man hours.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience; I really am. I hope these replacement parts fix your woes, but should you still have problems, we'll be glad to answer as many emails and voicemail messages it takes.

Regards,

Kevin

Ok Kevin if you say so.

Hopefully the parts fixes the bumper not woes.

Thanks and i'm not going to respond or reply to you or SSO here anymore, whats done is done. (lesson learned) Call me or email if you like.

thanks -Juan

To say that you will not respond on here anymore to SSO or Kevin is ludicrous. You came here complaining, looking for a rise out of people and you didn't get it. All you got were a few responses good and bad. Now that SSO has responded, you say you will no longer respond on here. You opened yourself up to a response by going to a forum. I hope the parts that are being made fix your WOES and bumper.

I can keep this up but why. It has been quite a while to get this issue delivered/fixed, i have the right to say what i need to say. I'm a consumer and as a consumer you expect to be treated right specially after dumping 3K on something that isn't right. Do you have 3K you can throw away? If SSO would have communicated or been up front with me about this issue from the beginning then things would have turned out different but instead I have to find out on my own.

I hope the parts fixes the bumper, woes don't need fixing

quick update,

spoke to Kevin offline and he figured out that i have a bad bumper. Parts that came in to fix the issue didn't work either. My bumper will need to go back SSO.

Good News,

I just got the replacement bumper, will be installing it next week.

Stay tuned.

I'm glad you got it worked out! Kevin has been great for me. I didn't buy a bumper but did have a minor issue with my sliders. The whole SSO crew has been super helpful and consistent with communication the whole time.

Finally got a chance to swap out the bumpers. I must say this new bumper fit alot better than the last. Everything seems ok except for a few minor items but i can live with those.

Anyone figure out how to keep the rear swingarms open when parked off angle with the SSO rear bumper?

I’m thinking of adding some sort of latch to lock at full open, just wanted to see what you guys are doing

On my LX450 I swapped the gas struts on the swing outs from 40LB to 100LB. Little harder to close but it keeps the swing out open. Maybe an option for these as well. Keep you posted.

I know that SSO doesn't make this bumper anymore, but does anyone have access to the swingout arm drawings and dimensions? Jerry can holder swingout was damaged and tossed a couple years ago, now wanting to add it back in but don't have the measurements.

Thanks
