Anyone have Taco rims on 4R?

Most Tacoma wheels are 16" and will only work on SR5 4runners with the smaller brakes. The ones shown on the 4runner are 17"s and they are the same wheel on both.

What are you basing this on? I currently have 01-04 Tacoma SR5 rims (16s) on my 04 Limited 4wd (V6) that came with 17s. I am borrowing these from a friend as I blew two of my tires on the same trip. These are his street set on is 04 Tacoma. They do clear the brakes without much room to spare, but have been on there for about 2k miles or so. No rubbing and no issues with fitment.
Were these the rims you were asking about? I saw the post and wanted to clear the air, but I can post up a few better pictures tomorrow once the sun comes up if you are interested in how they look. I have forgotten they are on there. But its nice to be able to get a bit more rubber under the t4r..

Interesting, I always thought it was common knowledge on this site that 16" wheels would not fit the bigger rotors. Here is one of many old post. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/43552-16-17-rims-08-sport-will-they-work.html I guess it depends on each individual wheel.

Not all limited models have the larger brakes, that's why this works. I have no idea which limiteds got the upgraded brakes, but it seems most have the standard sr5 brakes which means 16s will fit. All sport editions have the larger brakes.
The rotors on my t4r are quite a bit bigger than the ones that were on my 02 Tacoma (dcab 4x4). Does anyone have the diameter measurements from the rotors? I'm more than happy to go measure mine to see if there is a difference. I have to take the tires off this weekend to swap on new shoes (YAY!).
FWIW, the clearance is is probably 1/2" or less between the caliper and the rim. If when mounting the tire, weights were applied to the inside of the rim, its might interfere, the margin is that tight.
My other half took the t4r this morning to work, so I will have to get it in the garage and do some measurements for a comparison.
If I do in fact have the smaller brakes, I wouldn't mind swapping to bigger ones. Though admittedly, the t4r stops miles sooner than my tacoma ever did.

Maybe the v8s got bigger rotors and us v6s have to suck it?

Fronts are 319mm (small) and 338mm (large).
I probably should have checked first. JCWhitney has two rotor sizes for 2004 (my year) . A 12.6" and a 13.31" Given the difference and how tight the tacoma rims are on my 4runner, if I do have the 12.6" as opposed to the 13.31", the tacoma rims would not fit, the clearance just wouldn't be there.
The rotor isn't really the clearance issue, but the caliper would be. they do sell two different calipers as well, but just notate them as for a 17" or 16" wheel.

Yeah 17 means big and 16 means small brakes. Don't know why they do it like this because it can be confusing to 4Runner owners as the majority come with 17"+ wheels, but that doesn't mean they have the "17"" brakes. They should just call out rotor diameter.

Nope, that's not it. My 03 Limited is a v8 and loaded with every available option (navigation, xreas suspension, reear auto leveling system, etc) and has the smaller brakes. This has come up numerous times and i've yet to see an answer.
