ARB Bull Bar Installation Advice

Hello everybody,

I am new to this forum and to Toyota 4Runners. I just got a used (2004, 145K miles) 4th Gen 4Runner that is stock, but before I bought it I was already planning to modify it a least somewhat. The question is, has anyone installed the ARB bull bar here that is willing to share advice? I am pretty mechanically inclined, but I will take it to a pro, if that is highly recommended (though I would really like to save cash). Thanks. I have enjoyed reading this forum for the past few months.

you should post in the 4th gen section.
Not sure about the ARB specifically, but many members have installed aftermarket front bumpers with ease.

while i have never done a ARB on a 4th gen, i have installed a couple ARB bumpers and worked on a 4th gen... ARB installations are strait forward, and being as though ARB makes a bumper intended for the 4th gen id say this is most doable by yourself in your garage or driveway. ive helped installed a perkins bumper on a 4th gen and it was a breeze. and i have done two ARBs on 3rd gen runners -ARB never made a bumper for 3rd gen runners, but they make one for a tacoma and its very similar in design, just requires some small slight modifications. again it was very easy and i did it by myself in my driveway/garage.
