Is this really that good of a deal? I feel uneasy about cars with no maintenance record (other than carfax) from small dealers like this.
 
True. I would definitely ask lots of questions and inspect everything, frame, fluids, transmission, everything. I would like to think I've gained a fair bit of knowledge since joining this forum. Personally I think the sweet spot for me is $5000 or less. But some may pay more due to the coveted E-locker. I do feel uneasy as well about small dealerships. I feel like they will day whatever you want to hear and there is very little you can do if they screw you on a deal.

I'm looking at the CarFax and it shows a timing belt service in 2005 and no mention of one after that. Mileage is a bit strange, it was regularly driven until 2010 and showed 153k miles at the time, current mileage is reported at 169k so it was only driven 16k miles in 6 years? That seems odd for a toyota.
 
I don't understand how this is that good of a deal? $7k.. You can buy them for that anywhere. It's nice and all but I would rather buy it from a person for that cost than a dealership. With all that washing it's easy to hide things

I agree, this is about average price maybe even on the steep side(7900). A good deal would be 5-6k IMO. Hell I got my 97 for just over 5k with 110k miles a couple years ago. Didnt come with e-locker, so I put in an ARB, still cheaper than this one.

Maybe it went from a DD to a secondary car and didn't drive it very much at all. I've had mine for close to 3 years and put about 9k. Mines purely for camping trips and to the mountain bike trails. I don't see it be way unusual.

This is my thought too, given the mileage and probable lack of service history (listing dealer got the car at auction) I don't think it's worth $6,995 they have it listed for now.

My truck was a DD for it's first 7 years & then I bought a car when my commute got much longer. I've only put about 15,000 miles on it in the last 3 years.

I love when people dont know what they're selling, no mention of E-Locker, Black Pearl Emblems & the color is "Grey"! LOL
