I have rejoined the Toyota family by purchasing a 2014 TE. I'm really excited to be able to do some serious 4WD again. My first car in 1989 at 16 years of age was a 1982 SR5 pickup; complete with the stripes on the hood and side walls. I took that all over the CA desert in the '90s including Coyote Canyon in Anza Borrego when you could still drive the entire way from Borrego to Anza. After gaining a family I moved to a '98 Subaru Outback and then an '05 Honda Pilot.
I wanted a white 5th Gen since it would hide "desert pinstripes", but it was turning into a nightmare trying to find one. After a lengthy search, I settled on a silver one as the "stripes" will probably stay hidden on that just as well. I hope to meet and join many of you on trips as I do NOT want to go with only one vehicle.
