I haven't been on the forum in a while i sold my 04 black sr5 4x4, i miss it was a great ride especilly in snow. I"m looking for another 4wd, i live on a steep hill and in the winter i need a good 4wd or awd. What do you guys think of the 2010 up 4runners? Any better then the old one's? I'm looking at the 4runners, subaru impreza outback sport and rav4 4x4. I'm thinking smaller because this will be a daily driver car. Any help would be appreciated. I never owned a subaru but i love the outback impreza sport.

I have owned a WRX which is a different animal but it's the same awd system. They are very good. I really liked that vehicle and would live to have another Subaru if they ever make something with some ground clearance.
That said this 4runner is one of my favorites as well. It's a hard decision but if you want max fuel economy and a good awd system go Subaru. If you want the best real suv go 4runner.

The latest generation of 4Runner, from what I've reviewed, appears to have some improvements in off road ability from the 4th generation. So, if you like the new body style and the price, it should be a good purchase. We are leasing a 2013 Rav4 and we are very happy with it, the fuel economy, the ride, and in the snow (west Michigan receives plenty). We lost our 2010 Rav4 last year when it was hit broadside at 55mph, flipped it onto its roof. My 16 year old son was driving and took the hit on the passenger side. The structure held up beautifully and the air bags truly saved his life...not even a scratch. That sold us on the Rav4.
