Baseball fans?

I'm a die hard San Diego fan, love my Padres !!

However I'm losing respect for MLB after the the new requirement made by the league that every ballpark must now provide Spanish, and Japanese interpreters for the players that refuse to speak the language of the land.

It's such a shame what we have become, I'm almost ashamed to be an American, I'm holding hope for 2016 that maybe someone with at least half a brain can bring back the glory of the U.S.A.

I'm still not so fond of this instant review system the MLB just adopted. Things are changing I guess, but nonetheless when I'm at the ballpark I'm happy.
 
Was that a well crafted bait and switch thread title or just a typical, poorly worded one?

Yeah. I'm not sure how I feel about the review policy. On one hand I think it's long overdue, but at the same time I don't agree with how it interrupts the game. Many times I see the coach kinda kicking rocks at the dugout. Ready to pounce on the field once upstairs tells him too and it's distracting. I know he's just buying time but these games are taking to long as it is. Between the batters that have to adjust their gloves, and knock the dirt out from the cleats after every pitch and the pitchers that seem to take an eternity while up on the mound.

Like you said, the game is changing, and with some of the salaries these guys are getting I guess they have the weight of the world on their shoulders to do good.

I'd love to go to a game, best I get is "MLB at bat" oh well I love listening to a game almost as much.

A few years down the road when I'll have the option of leaving St. Louis for work, it'll be a tough call to make because I don't know if I can leave the best baseball town. To not be able to go to ATLEST one or two games a year would drive me nuts.

Yeah I know I'm crazy to think that the players get paid tons of money to play an American born sport and yet they don't wanna speak our language, so we bend over backward to accommodate them.

How exactly did you take it? Looks to be out of the ballpark.

I gotta say I may be biased, (well I know I am) but Petco park has got to be one of the best parks out there, excluding some of the old classics

It's very hard not being able to support your team in the home stands, I grew up going to Padres, and Charger games and your right there is nothing like going to a game. And of course, we had the San Diego "Chicken" quite possibly "the" best mascot of all times!!

Yea it doesn't do much for the ego of the players having a mascot of a chicken but damn he was great! And if that wasn't bad enough, the minor league mascot is the "El Paso, Chihuahua's" ....lol man that hurts.....

Oh, its for the players? I thought you meant the fans.

Long story short, I was a superv. for a construction company that did work for the John Moores family, I built the owners box at the ballpark, Among some other cool projects. That pic. was taken from a condo of there's across the street.
 
Maybe ashamed is too strong a word, I'm upset with they way things are heading because first off these players are getting payed way too much money that if they don't wish to speak the common language of the land then they should pay themselves instead of making it a rule of conduct for all club houses. And it's not as if they are trying to learn, that's understandable it's hard to learn a second language but to just not even care to learn and force a law upon others because your uninterested in doing so, is wrong.

Well, that's pretty cool. Something to be proud of for sure!

Thanks for the insight of how the rich and famous view the game! Lol

Side note, I did a little research on the western metal supply building and such. I never knew they were a big government contractor. I love how they made the foul ball post out of the corner of the building.
