So over looking at black rubber donuts I need help somebody talk me into something.

I am indesisive between tires
OPTIONS: TOYO AT II P285/70/17 for weight, price and s/h purposes
Cooper AT3 LT 285/70/17 for price, weight, economic?
Cooper ST Maxx 255/75/17 for price n look

What I really want TOYO AT II LT285/70/17

I am mostly a road warrior, mileage, weight, I know is gonna suffer. Whenever I think I have come to a conclustion I talk myself out of it for one reason or another.

I just recently upgraded to at3' s in 285/70/17 p rated. Took em through some nasty mud and they did fine. I chose p rated to help with mpg some. They are quite on road, and honestly they look far more aggressive in person than they do on the internet

Just put some Nitto Terra Grappler AT's on my new to me 4th gen and so far they ride really nice. Like you I plan to spend more time on road with this one and they seem to have just the right amount of tread for light off road as well.

That's because you know you want to take that 4Runner off the pavement and none of your choices are good for that! :p
 
I have the AT2 and I absolutely love them. And I hated all terrains before I bought these. They're silent, balance easily and wear very nicely. Will be buying these again when I need to.
 
All 3 of your choices are quality options. If you spend the bulk of your time on pavement I would probably do the Toyo AT2 or the Cooper AT3/ Discount Tire Cooper ATP (Slightly cheaper sometimes). The Cooper ST Maxx is a heavier duty tire.

Since I am driving my 4Runner more on pavement and my off-road is sandy I opted for the Nitto Terra Grappler since it is a solid performing AT tire that is quiet, looks good and has nice road manners. Nitto & Toyo are sister companies.
 
I had the toyo at2's, i was pretty happy with them.
Good wheeling,very minimal road noise, good on mpg , an wore well.
