Best MPG Yet!

Just averaged 19.3 MPG in my 2006 T4R Sport V8 4x4 on a 1,000 mile trip from Raleigh, NC to Manchester, TN. It was about half and half flat ground and mountain roads but it was 95% interstate travel (I-40) going 60-70 MPH. I calculated my MPG using tripometer and gas pump gallons, the computer read only 18.8.

Best I've gotten on any trip yet, a full MPG better than my trip to the beach which was perfectly flat, go figure.

Thanks guys!

Bonnaroo was a blast, first time I've been and I'm freaking exhausted from being outside in the sun all day for 3 days + walking and drinking, haha.

Nice work!
I've noticed the sweet spot for getting the best gas mileage is the 60-70mph range. Here in SD with interstate speeds at 75mph I typically get around 14mpg. Whereas dropping down to the 60s gets me 17mpg.

Thanks guys!

Jealous! I had a co-worker go and she was rubbing it in at all the good bands she saw. Of course, it's a little tougher for me to go, I'm out in B'ham WA and that would be a long drive...

I traveled out toward Palm Springs 2 months back and averaged 22.4 mpg driving at a steady 70mph. I have experienced similar mpg on longer trips, such as Socal to Sedona and averaged about the same. I'm heading to Arizona again in two weeks and will see if I average the same mpg. I'm driving a 2003 Limited V8 with 97,000 miles logged on her. Most of my daily driving is local around town and even then I'm usually at 16-17 mpg.

04 V6 4wd. I avg 18-19 combination of city/highway. All highway is 20-21 at speeds of 75-80mph. If I use what the t4r says, I get 2 mpg more.

What tires and pressures is everyone running. Seems to make a difference. Replaced the awful dunlop at20 tires with the yoko geolander a/t and lost 1 mpg. Happy with these tires though!

Thanks guys!

I was there in 2011 too. It was disgustingly hot. Sadly by Sunday we realized it was better to go to Centeroo and sit under the tents rather rot in the sea of tents and scorched vehicles. What a time though.

19.3 is the best I have ever posted - 50-60mph through Vermont.

I've never done it again, either. It was fun while it lasted...
