BFG KO2 Tread Life

Didn't want to start a new thread, but after my search, I couldn't find much information on the what people are getting as tread life on these tires. Figure I start a thread on this. I'm looking to buy a set soon.

What would be helpful for users I suspect is to post:

1. How many miles you go out of your tires
2. % of on and off Road driving (eg..80% road, 20% off road)
3. Any other unique details that may be helpful. Eg, tire size, your setup etc.

Hopefully this will help others when deciding on these tires. Tons of thread on mileage, none on tread life currently.

I can only speak for the original KO's I had about 30k on them on my full size blazer when I sold it and they still had some life in them. I was not happy with the wet and snow performance of that tire though.

I have about 2k miles on my KO2 and they are significantly improved I also expect to get 30-50k out of them
 
2011 4Runner Limited
OEM SR5 rims with 275/70/17 @ 37psi
Mix of city/highway driving

Had them since August 2015, and placed roughly 30,000KM (not miles) on them, and they've only went down to 14/32 (brand new was 15).
 
Only speaking from my K01s on a 2008 Tacoma

50k miles with regular rotations but didn't want to risk one more winter with them on but would have been good for at least one more Utah Spring Summer Fall.

90% on road and 10% off off road (Utah west desert, Bears Ears, Canyonlands Etc)

Switched to a Michelin LTX A/T 2 and noticed they were much quieter and gained a few mpgs, but didn't look nearly as bad ass. So it was a wash with the switch. Off road capabilities / winter driving seemed similar.

Now have the KO2s on my 4 Runner and love them so far....but only have 20 miles on them lol.
 
I have about 25k on mine, 90%ON/10%OFF and they still look new. Based on the wear of the first 25, I don't think it will be an issue getting another 25k out of them.

Not to derail this thread, but for those of you who do 10-20% off road with K02s, have you experienced any punctures with brambles or the like?
 
IMO -- pick a tire based on the traction for the conditions you will be using them in. Mileage would not be my first factor. If in snow country, I would want the 3 peak rating too.
 
Hey Bob,

I have a 2016 T4R SR5 Premium 4x4. I did Bilstein 5100's all around and am putting in the Daystar spacer 1.5" in the rear. Do you know if 285/70/17's will fit and not rub?

Same here. I'm at the same amount of mileage and my tires look exactly the same. Figure I have a good year of life left in them so 15k miles maybe more?

The BFG KO2 has a 3 peak/mountain snowflake rating. I've had 2 sets of the KOs and did a lot of driving in the snow. I lived in Utah recently and worked at a ski resort, so I drove in snow almost everyday. I slid on some ice but never got stuck. This is what my truck looked at the end of my shift after a day of snow! I still had to clean it off and drive home down the mountain! You got to love a powder day!

Run around 45psi
Got 45000mi on this set

Probably have some alignment issues as all 4 tires wear on the inside, rather than wear evenly. Will get an alignment after the new tires.

Love these tires.

Found a killer deal on 4wheelparts.com, $799 out the door, shipped to local store where they will install for free. Printed that out, brought it to Discount Tires and they are willing to match it! (DT wants $1080 out the door if it wasn't the price match).
 
you'll easily get 40k+ out of them if you arent hardcore wheeling all the time. Just rotate them on schedule and check your alignment.
 
I rotate religiously. Mine have 45k. Plenty of life left. Might get another 10-15k out of them.

I currently have about 40,000km on a set. End of the this summer they started getting pretty noisy. There is still plenty of tread, and they've been rotated regularly.
 
The tread life on our K02s has been amazing. I'm not sure of the exact mileage as we run winter wheels in winter, but conservatively we have at least 30,000 miles on them, 95% on road and they look almost new.

Not sure if there is a better AT tire as far as tread life is concerned. I just unmounted mine. I'll try to get a picture with a tire depth gauge to show the tread that is left later today.

What load rating? Why so much air pressure?
