Body Lift Troubles

I've been working on installing a 1" body lift, and it's been a real PITA. Seems like every step has some snafu that I have to solve. Here is my current predicament: I've installed the 1" spacers on all the lift spots except for the rear two in the hatch, and the two directly in front of the rear tires. My problem is that something is preventing the rear of the truck body from lifting off the frame.

For the front spacers I actually had to stack three bricks on top of my floor jack to get enough lift to put those in. I've tried lifting the rear with the same method, from different spots, and the body never lifts off the rubber bushings at all. I've searched around, and I'm at a loss. Any ideas what may still be attached?

I know you're supposed to one side at a time...and not use bricks...etc...but it's been so frustrating I had to take what I could get. I should also note I've got LC coils with old man emu shocks in the back...surely those aren't extending THAT far and preventing the body from lifting off? Thanks in advance for any help...

Sounds like your suspension isn't unloaded far enough to me.

LC coils move a lot, if you're sure that there's no snags in lifting the body (you'd probably know or at least be able to pinpoint where it is), you'll just need to lift higher.

I took 3 1ft 2x4's, screwed two of them together to make a 4x4, then screwed the third flat on the end of those (for surface area on the bottom of the floorboard). Basically looked like a T, which worked great with the floor jack.

I'll see if I can build something similar to lift it higher. I'm still wary though, as I had my 23" jack lifted quite a bit with four bricks stacked on top, the bushings were still to tough to even budge.

Try using a couple of ratchet straps to keep the suspension compressed, that way you may not have to jack it up as far.
