so as i was on my way to a buddy's house about 60 miles away i was lucky enough to throw a rod on the highway. was about fifteen minutes away and had no idea anything was wrong with the motor till i hit a steep incline on the highway. started hearing a pinging and literally about 15 seconds later i was losing power and as i was trying to merge to the shoulder the block blew its butthole! got it towed to my buddys place and ended up buying a long block for about two grand and dropping it in at his house. it was a blessing in disguise i guess cuz i got to learn a ton from him and see how jacked my old motor actually was.
had to redo a ton of stuff like the fuse box, wiring, upper/lower ball joints, brake lines, and a basically everything else in the engine bay. heres some pics to help you through your tuesday. i'm taking this piece to yosemite now!
