Broken badge, thanks to the local car wash!

After watching them wash and dry my truck they drive it around to their detail bay. 30 mins later I walk back there wondering what the F they are doing. I find my truck just chillin with nobody touching it. Laying on the seat is one of Limited badges in two pieces.

The mgr (only one speaking english) finally finds a guy to fess up and said he blew it off with an air nozzle trying to get the water out from around the badge and assures me he'll fix it. I hear him tell another dude in spanish to go get the Gorilla Glue out of the closet. Ah hell no! I told him I'd take care of it...you're not putting it back on with Gorilla Glue.

:happens: and it really isn't a huge deal, especially given it's a 12 year old rig, but is it so hard to just come tell me and see what I want to do about it instead of leaving it and acting like it didn't happen? :50cal: That is how children react when they're afraid they'll get in trouble. :rant: I'll spare you all "that's part of what's wrong with this country speech" but man that chaps my arse!

Not even an apology was offered. Last time I hand them another penny.

When I was a youngster not owning up to what you did equated to double the consequences. Where has that gone?

That stinks. And I agree. Mistakes happen, but when they do, OWN up to them. Don't try to hide them. The funny/dumb thing is if they have kids, it would probably infuriate them if one of them tried hiding something that they accidentally broke.

Sorry to hear, that sucks. But on the other hand im glad I saw this thread cause I was about to start one asking what decals I could take off without there being holes under them.

I normally would but was in a pinch with some company coming over and we were going to look at Christmas lights in my truck. It was filthy from hunting.

id love to take credit for this next gem of wisdom, but sadly it was not me who said this, i am stealing this from a friend, whom i think is one of the brightest minds i know, he is also an LEO and i look up to him. anyhow i think this is very fitting for this thread...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: - Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm; ... - Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

That sucks to hear. Personally, idgaf whether it's a 1 year old truck or a 25 year old truck, I'd be demanding they fix it properly. The least those bums could have done was not charge you for the wash.

I could not agree with you more. I certainly would not have handled it the same way if I owned that business or was even working there. Their attempt to "fix it properly" was going to be Gorilla Glue and there's no way I was going along with that. I'm certainly not shy in voicing my displeasure but they did not seemed concerned with their conduct, my aggravation or the inordinant amount of time I spent waiting on them (90+ mins).

I guess I'm one of those remaining idiots that believes by voicing my concerns directly, not giving them anymore business and others doing the same they will either be forced to change or eventually go out of business.

Maybe I should exercise the annonymous comment card these days. Evidently a pissed off customer staring you in the face is no longer effective...
