I was thinking that at least clock, calender and compass may work in USA because it's GPS stuff.
but I'm sure for location stuff are all dead.
ex) notice it's getting close to tunnel,
I have something to ask to Makers so I will ask them about it too tomorrow.

BTW, I was very impressed what you done to your runner. all mods are beautifully done! specially deadeing and rool bars!

If you can find out if that radar unit would work here in the States that would be great. I am very interested in one. How hard was it to install? Fairly easy?

I called to COMTEC in JPN today. Asked about using in USA.
They are not quite sure if it works or not. and finally kept saying this is made for JPN only.

There was another reason I called. Calender shows JAN,10(FRI)
I was like WTF!!? it should be shown THU. I checked with them and it was miss programing of leap year. Keep using until March.1 to get back to normal or send it to service for reprograming.. so I noticed that I was wrong about GPS reciving collect time and date depends on where you are. I depends on programing like you said about waypoint stuff.
I can't say it will work in USA for sure

Installing it must be easy for you. All you need is cutter, some plastic panel (whatever) and grew to make an monitor holder. DIY cost must be around $10 or less.

Thanks for researching it for me. From what they are telling you, it sounds like it may now be of complete use over here. The company being so far away from here, I would hate to have to send it to them for repairs if some where needed. Much easier for you being closer.

I think the best way for you is to find separete radar in US.
Is there no separete type? (monitor and GPS receiver)
BTW since I saw your 4Runner, I got same door sill protector from Jason's site and It's awsome!!

I serched for website in English but nothing I found.
This rador costs about $250 to $400 depends on where you buy it in JPN.
The best way to purchase this is to find some JPNese friend around you who can translate and arrange shipping for you. also I can get one for you if you have PAYPAL for final option. but you still need someone to read instruction..
What I am afraid most is I can not guarantee it works in US
