Car cover if my paint is trashed?

Yes, I used that one. Once. A car cover on a daily driver has got to be the single most aggravating way to own a vehicle. Every. Damn. Day. You're out there, shaking off snow and rain, folding it up, and covering the interior of your car with said snow and rain.

Also, your paint surface needs to be damn near meticulous every time you put the cover on ... or it'll scratch.

There's a reason you're not getting much of a response with regards to car covers. They suck ass. Wrap, dip, liner, topliner, or $500 paint job special .... anything would be better than DD'ing a car cover.

Good info, thanks! It's probably good that I should reiterate again that this is NOT my DD. Hence my desire to cover it for the 5-12 days in between uses.

I also don't really care about a cover scratching my paint since it's thrashed anyway, so maybe this is a decent way to go.

So, if anyone has any suggestions for a decent 4-season car cover under $150 that's not meant for DD'ing, let me know! Thanks! If not, I'll just try something from CoverCraft.
 
Do you live on your own property? Or do you live in an apartment or have to on-street park?

I might look into making some sort of lean to type of cover for your 4runner. I don't know how we went so far down the liquid application options, but if you plan on parking in the same spot, it might be worth looking into.

I have a house with a garage, but as soon as I get my lift sorted, it will no longer fit inside my ridiculously low ceiling garage. I will be right there with you. LOL.

Yeah, it's a tricky situation. I rent a really nice house (nice as in old and historic, not like a mansion or anything), and it has an abnormally long driveway (about 4 cars maybe?). There is a garage, but it's shared space, so I can't park in it. I had thought about buying one of those temporary garage tents, but they're not exactly cheap for one that would stand up to 4-seasons here.

I'm not sure if my landlords would allow it, but one is a huge car nut that has a 7 or 8 car garage shed thing with all sorts of neat classic cars (nothing super fancy, just tasteful). I would just have to ask and I'm sure they'd say one way or the other.

I figured a car cover would be the path of least resistance to any of that, but yeah, I'd love to just have a covered car port for both of my cars. I say I don't care as much about the 4Runner's paint, but my new car is a different story and I end up parking it in the street where it's not under the trees so much.

Dude, I know how to look for products, thanks! I'm not asking for links to car cover, rather, I'm asking for recommendations from anyone here that has had experience with any car covers under $150.

There are a lot of craptacular car covers out there, and I was hoping to find someone with direct experience to avoid said craptacular covers. I've already said in a later post that it sounds like no one really has a lot of experience with any, so I'll take the risk myself and check out CoverCraft's offerings.
