CarPlay volume on texts

Anyone know how to modify volume in CarPlay apps? Phone calls use the volume knob. Music is the same. Siri stuff is super quiet. As is Waze. Fine when windows closed but if I’m taking advantage of this awesome weather and driving with windows and my sweet a$$ rear dog window open(I’m new to T4R life and still super excited), I can barely hear my text read outs.

I’ve looked for settings everywhere, tried adjusting iPhone volume and console volume while listening to txts, and still can’t figure it out.

Any ideas? TIA.

This has been a problem with Toyota vehicles for years. I had it on my 2013 RAV4 and my current 4Runner. The problem is that there is a separate volume control for Bluetooth applications in the settings area. Bluetooth is used for the sound on many cell phone apps such as Google Maps.

The trick to solve is to use the steering wheel volume buttons WHILE the app sound is being played.

You are lucky. On the Android side, the notification sounds are so loud you will fibrillate. And there's no way to change it . . . .

Yes there is. Read my previous post on this. ANY connection, via Bluetooth, whether Apple or Android, there is a separate volume control for Bluetooth connections. Just use the steering wheel volume buttons while the Bluetooth audio is playing.
