Peter, how old is your Submariner?? (approx age) Yeah, those old Rolexes run great. My Rolex Yacht-Master (bought in 2004) has been less in perfect in durability unfortunately.
1984. I am sorry you had problems with yours. Actually, they are large and may not be the best watch for most people. It is great to see all these neat watches. I bought it for something like $900 and a few years ago I sold some jewelry to a dealer and he looked at my watch and wanted to pay me $2,000 for it. So, I guess from a value stand point it was a good deal. I will wear it till it breaks or I die and in that case my son can have it.
