cleaning moldings around door

I recently bought a 05 4 runner and the moldings around the door sills are filthy. I have tried simple green which worked okay but left alot of dirt behind. also used the mother detailer with no luck anyone else have this problem?

if so what did you use?

I've kept mine pretty clean since I was able to buy new. For the dirt I've gotten on them, the Meguiar's detailer worked -- but I doubt it's any better than the Mother's you've already tried.

It would have to be something pretty bad for Simple Green to not get out. You could try 409 or Fantastik with a brush, but be careful not to damage the moulding. Or, perhaps some baking soda would work, since it's a very mild abrasive -- but it would require more water for rinsing.

thanks for the reply I will have to try something diffrent maybe the baking soda. I am really confused I use simple green for all types of stain removal. usually no more than 50%. Maybe I need full strengh. I will try and see what happens.

If 50% Simple Green didn't clean it, I doubt full strength would. That stuff is powerful!

maybe i will go at with 50% and try using a toothbrush.

Simple Green also makes a stronger product called Purple Power, which is more of a strong degreaser.
I
