Drivers Side Exterior Door Handle

Drivers side exterior door handle is starting to go.
Ya really need to pull UP to get it to open.

Not a big deal yet, but don't want it to become one

anyone know if there is a way to tighten this up?

The connecting rod is held in with plastic clips to the latch mechanism. If your having to pull up super far to release the latch then your latch is bad OR the rod has bent somehow and you may be able to bend it back to tighten up.
