Engine dies then comes right back up while driving?

It's very random when it does it and it's normally at cruising speed on smooth roads. Engine dies but the rest of the electrical all works, after a second or two it comes right back to life. No skipping or backfire, other than the stall it still runs great.

I'm thinking cam/crank sensor. Anyone wanna save me a $80 gamble and point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

Took a look at the cam sensor today and it wasn't to bad, just the normal thin film of dust/oil. So it's cleaned and back together. I looked for the crank sensor but still have the skids on so wasn't very successful.

Is it right there by the timing marker?

Thanks for the quick responses. I got it out but it wasn't the problem, i don't think. It stalled on me at the car wash while idling and failed to restart. After 30 min of messin with the crank sensor and other stuff I gave in and walked to Autozone for starter fluid. Then it fired up and died, so I had spark, so not the crank sensor. Plug on top of the fuel pump was loose. Hope that is the culprit for the problem. I need a new plug for that thing!

Yeah sorry, forgot to update. Just got out to Beale AFB in CA. It was my fuel pump connector under the back seat. It doesn't clip right and was intermittently loosing power. But it made it all the way up here from Fl, 2900 miles!

Good job finding and fixing the problem. How long are you out here in California? I drive my 4Runner up to the unregulated shooting range on Waldo Rd. right behind Beale AFB every now and then. I use the Runner to get up the hill to set my steel targets out to 300 yards. Maybe I'll see you up there some day. John
