Also, we've been steadily continuing to add some content and are shooting to add new stuff M-W-F. The latest is Alex's take on Slee's Landcruiser Slider offering. Why is that relevant to us 4Runner guys? Heres why:
-Slee also make 5th Gen 4Runner Sliders similar in design
-200 Series Land Cruisers being wheeled hard are awesome
-The post has a great video shot of Alex BRUTALLY pounding the passenger slider during the Vermont Overland Trophy - If you offroad and have questioned whether you need sliders, the video will remove any doubt...I'd recommend watching it in slow motion...

As far as permits and such, it seems I need a permit for the vehicle, but do I need a camping permit as well? Also, is it "find a spot and camp" kind of deal, or are there designated camping spots along Long Run rd. or Little dry river rd?

You don't need a permit for that area, there is also no permit required for camping and there are plenty of primitive camping spots off of the trails - they aren't marked but you can see them.

To my knowledge, the only area you need a permit is Peters Mill and Taskers Gap, and you can get one at the local gas station.

DirtRoadTrip is headed to the Daytona 500 tomorrow. Going to be a total debacle, camping (setting up world headquarters) in the infield, if you'll be there look for us between turns 3-4! We will be easy to spot.

We've continued to post, readership has continued to grow! There's a couple of new things going on with DirtRoadTrip, in addition to us adding new content 2-3x/week (approaching 60 posts overall):

-Revised "Events" Section to an organized list view: our plan here is to build this out to be pretty comprehensive as far as overland/4x4 events happening within a day's drive of the mid-Atlantic. Both more formal as well as forum-generated events.

-The Land Cruiser is on its way out...Alex should have a new (TBD) rig in the next week or 2 and will be starting a completely new build.

-We're starting to get some support from some awesome folks in the industry! Total Chaos Fabrication, who many of you guys know is a premier maker of race-proven Toyota suspension is supporting us - it is awesome to have a company so well respected back the "local grassroots guys" like us. Definitely something to think about when you choose whose parts to run on your trucks.
