FJ Cruiser--> 4Runner new member

Hi all,
Just made a transition from the FJ Cruiser to a new (to us) 2010 4Runner Limited with 19k miles. Previous owner was Kevin Calabro (if any of you remember the Seattle Sonics, he was the radio announcer. Toyota of Puyallup gives him a car to drive each year as a marketing stitch)

Anyway, my previous FJ Cruiser had some major issues after only 87K miles and 4 years of ownership, so it was time to trade it in.

I'm not crazy about the color of our new rig but its easy to keep clean.

Master computer control box that controls the brakes/ABS went south. Part was $2200 and labor another $160. It also developed the dreaded "FJ Shudder" between 35-50mph, in OD (auto tranny) and the work around was downshifting to Drive from OD. Me thinks that was either a rear end or torque converter issue. Either way, neither should have happened with a mere 87k on the truck.

I was pretty pissed off when I went to the dealership and forewarned the sales person that they were about to be at the recieving end of a rant. I also noted that Ford was the lot next door (I was a Ford guy for 35 years) and I was VERY inspired to return to my old brand after these series of mechanical mishaps with the Toyota.

Either way, they gave me a fair price above KBB for the FJ trade in, and a great price for the Limited 2010 4Runner. So I'm a happy camper once again.
