FJ Cruiser buyers guide

I have yet to find a nice buyers guide that give all the details of what to look for in terms of buying a used FJ. The 4Runner forums have some AMAZING buyers guides like this one here.

Does this forum, or any others have similar guides? I've checked the FJ specific forum over at Toyota FJ Cruiser Community but all of their guides are for mods, not for buying used FJs. I'm in the market for a 2007 and would like to know what specifics to look for.

Anyone have the hook up on a site?

There were two bigger problems with the 2007-2008 FJs.

1. Some developed inner fender bulges/cracking, usually from hard off-roading or jumping. If you open the hood and look at the inside of the fender well, some older FJs will show cracking or bulging in the center of the fenders. This was reinforced/fixed in 2009+ models.

2. Some also experienced failure of the rear diff gears. Lots of 2007-08s were fixed under warranty, but I'm sure most weren't. If you are buying a 4x4, I'd run it through all the 4wd gearing to make sure it all works well.

Other than these two issues, I'd just have a reliable mechanic look it over and look for typical older car issues/signs of abuse.
