Not sure I would want a flashlight that gets that hot. Almost seems like a "oops" they had while in the testing stage of a new flashlight...it gets too hot. "Hey, we'll sell it as a cooking item".

My old camcorder (back when they needed a suitcase to carry--LOL) had a halogen light on it that made the furniture start to smoke when it sat too close! Yeah, some lights can put out a ton of heat. I'll stick with my Coleman stove when I want to cook eggs, thank you very much!

It's also helping that you are covering the whole end of the light which is keeping the heat focused but that's still alot of heat being put out for a flashlight.

I rarely camp alone so taking 2-3 hours to cook each item one by one for each person would be a little tedious.

Back to the topic, when deployed, we cooked food on our APCs / Humvees hoods, and slept under them when it was cold.

or a simple dakota hole stove is the best for cooking if you don't have any of the supplies.

plus both of these are good/cool survival techniques to teach your kids.
