Found a set of new TRD rims...opinions?

Found this add on craigslist a little while ago for $650 out the door. Emailed the guy and said its a Toyota dealership in Orange County, about an hour and a half or so from me. Is this too good to be true? I see these rims sell for more like $900 without tires...Opinions? Thanks

Thats a decent deal considering what they normally sell for. It's kind of ridiculous what the market has driven these wheels to be valued at. I guess its just since Toyota stopped selling them over the counter unless you actually have a FJ Trail Team and a VIN to match.

I know you can buy those exact wheels but in Silver, from TRDparts4u for like 550-600 if memory serves. Are these black ones original FJ wheels or are they silver ones that have been PC'd? I've seen a few people powdercoating them and then claiming they are original TRD FJ wheels. Not that it really matters I guess.....

Those are great wheels. My last 1st gen Tacoma came with a set of the Anthracite ones. You will love them.

If i grab them would it be ok to swap the ones I have from my TRD rims now? Size 265/70/17 Rugged Trail with 90% tread. Think I could sell my current rims without any tires for $750 on craigslist?

Yes you should be able to swap over your current tires. Why do you want get rid of the wheels you have now, they are the tittays?

Spoiler, your current wheels are quite nice. Instead pay someone to flip your tires around so the white isn't showing .. Ahhhh!

Also lose the running boards and brush guard. Sell on CL!

Yeah when I get around to it ill flip the tires around, never thought of that, and getting rid of the running boards is on my list to do (feel free to send a thread on how I am a complete newbie) and ugh I wish that brush guard fit more flush but will probably leave it since there are spot lights in it

If I'm reading this correctly, you want to know if you buy the new wheels in the Craigslist ad, can you swap your current tires onto the new wheels?

According to the ad, the new wheels are 16". So your 17" tires will not fit them.
